PERFECT Is a photobook of PICTURE IMPERFECT project capturing vulnerable children’s struggles with mental health and identity. During the pandemic, MAKIKO collaborated with a charity in Northern England, providing children with disposable cameras to document their everyday life. As a conduit for their stories, she wove a timely narrative, making the youth co-authors of their “scenes.” Sponsored by Arts Council, the project highlights isolation and identity shifts through their eyes.
