『PERFECT』は、プロジェクト「PICTURE IMPERFECT」から生まれた写真集です。本作は、心の健康やアイデンティティの問題に向き合う、困難な状況にある子どもたちの姿を捉えています。パンデミックの最中、MAKIKOはイングランド北部の慈善団体と協働し、子どもたちに使い捨てカメラを手渡して日々の暮らしを記録してもらいました。MAKIKOは子どもたち自身に自らの情景を創作させ、その「語り手」として、現在起こっている物語を紡ぎ出しました。アーツカウンシルの助成を受けたこのプロジェクトは、子どもたちの目を通して、孤立やアイデンティティをとおした心のの揺らぎを浮かび上がらせています。

アーティストブック（限定100部）PERFECT Is a photobook of PICTURE IMPERFECT project capturing vulnerable children’s struggles with mental health and identity. During the pandemic, MAKIKO collaborated with a charity in Northern England, providing children with disposable cameras to document their everyday life. As a conduit for their stories, she wove a timely narrative, making the youth co-authors of their “scenes.” Sponsored by Arts Council, the project highlights isolation and identity shifts through their eyes.
